A Little Christmas Fun!

My sweet friends Teri, at Face Down and Angie, at By Faith, did this little meme (there's that word again!) on their blogs and it looked fun, so I am gonna play along!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate for sure ... egg nog is YUCK!

2.Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? He sets 'em under the tree so mommy and daddy don't have to spend all day putting em together!

3. Colored lights on house/tree or white? We have white, because it is a pre-lit tree, but I like the colored lights too.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? Whatever it takes to get a smooch from my man!

5.When do you put your decorations up? I try to get them up the day after Thanksgiving - at least that is when I start ... depends on if Hubby has to work!

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Mashed potatoes - but only cause you wouldn't let me pick the frozen cranbery dessert that my Grandma used to make (and that my mommy makes me now!)

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Waking up on Christmas morning at my Grandma's house. I always slept with her, so I would have to "sneak" out of bed to go peek ... I think she knew!

8.When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? Ummm, what are you talking about? (actually, by big brother is a big dope, so I learned pretty early.)

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? I used to BEG my parents to let us open one. Now I like to wait (while I shake every gift and try to guess). But we do get our new jammies on CHristmas Eve!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? It is a mixed bag of fun and trafitional. Lots of Coca Cola ornaments, antique glass balls that were my Grandma's, an ornament for each of our family, an ornament from each year of our marriage, and now all of the fun ones that Hattie makes at church and school!

11. Snow. Love it or dread it? I love it in Dec and Jan...not so much in April.

12. Can you ice skate? Does wobbling in a semi straight line while holding onto anything within reach to keep from falling count?

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? There were two - a Fisher Price doll house and a coat that my Grandma made me - she made one for each of us girl cousins! LOVED IT!

14. What is the most important thing about the holidays to you? You mean besides the fact that it is the birthday of my Lord and Savior? That would be my fRamily!

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Cranberry Yum!

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? The children make a cake on Christmas Eve and decorate it. After church we sing Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus and then have cake before bed. When the girls get a little older, I am hoping to give "gifts" to Baby Jesus.

17. What tops your Christmas tree? A big beautiful Angel from my Hubby!

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving, no question! I'd be lying if I said I don't like to receive, but if I had to choose, I would give - especially to my kids and my man!

19. What is your favorite Christmas song? For traditional, I like O Holy Night - when it is sung well! For contemporary, it is either Breath of Heaven or Strange Way To Save The World

20. Candy Canes. Yum or Yuck? YUM-OH!

21. What do you want for Christmas? A good Christmas for my children and my man. (and a cell phone with a QWERTY keyboard ... hey! Texting is cheaper, I am just trying to be practical!)

22. Do you attend an annual Christmas party? Yep, a Birthday part for Baby Jesus - in my kitchen!

23. Do you dress up for Christmas Eve or wear PJ's? Dress up for church, then new PJ's for bed!

24. Do you own a Santa hat? Yep - one for each of us!

25. Who do you normally spend Christmas with? Grand parents are invited over to see the girls open gifts on Christmas morning and then we usually host for Christmas dinner. I love to have my family around me - the more the better!

So, now I am supposed to tag people ...

I pick YOU (yep, that means you!) If you have a blog, leave a comment so I know to come see your answers. If you don't have a blog, leave your answers in the comment section.

I specifically tag
Marla and Kate (because you BOTH need to post more often, so I am giving you a topic!)

The Amazing Randomness Of A Pressure Cooked (and hungry) Mom

My mind is a little too cluttered to think of sitting down and righting a full on post with, ya know, paragraphs and proper punctuation and stuff. Therefore, I will just give you a random list of what is up here in B manor ...

*If, when changing a certain one year old darling girl, you are not quick enough with the re-diapering and dressing portion of the task, ya get this ...
(she likes to exercise her newly perfected running skills!)

*Last night was the annual Ladies Christmas Banquet at church ... LOVED IT! My lovely buddy SuperModel gave an amazingly touching devotional (cried)!! The music was fantabulous and two special girls did a GREAT dance to "Breath Of Heaven". Wonderful night!

*Had a meeting with Hattie's teacher yesterday that I was dreading. Last year they were desperately trying to get me to put a label on her (autism) - which I have been fighting. This year, however, she is doing soooo much better. Still not sure about the big K next year, but not so much pushing her toward a more severe program.

*Had some major stress lifted off our shoulders this morning. I will have to really let ya in on it all later - calls for a more serious post. Suffice it to say that though we are just at the beginning of the journey (and it will be a hard, heartbreaking journey), I am content knowing that the journey has begun. Remind me of that later - K?

*Sweet Vicki Sue got the news yesterday that her cancer is in remission - PRAISE HIM!!!!!!

*I have some serious house cleaning to do ... and I do mean serious. Stuff will be sold, donated, trashed and, in general, gotten rid of. Not looking forward to that :(

*So very thankful for the fRamily that is getting us through all of this craziness (still gotta wait for details ... longer post, remember?) - do NOT know what I would do with out my church family!

*SOOOOO excited for Christmas.

*SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not ready for Christmas

*Christmas is all about Jesus - let's not forget that, shall we?

*Had to downgrade our cable on Sat., why is it that it takes them a month to get you the channels you want and all of two seconds to take them away. Seriously, could they not have waited til AFTER the movie was over? Oh, and all of my Bravo, TLC, ABC Family and Lifetime friends, I will miss you. ~sigh~ FaLaLaLa Lifetime, I will miss your Christmas joy! TNT - guess we will have to put our "A Christmas Story" DVD on repeat this year, can't watch it on your station... bummer:(

*Hattie just told her toy to stop being so silly, 'cause "this is serious". Umm, Wonder Pets much?

*Sophie took a serious tumble the other day. Gave us a stinkin' heart attack. The doors in this house were all hung incorrectly and Hubby has managed to get MOST of them to at least close. However, the door to the basement does not always latch. Such was the case on Monday. She made it down part way safely and then we heard a few thuds followed by loud screaming. A bump on the head, bloody nose and scrape on the cheek, but other than that she is fine. Scary though - and left us feeling like parents of the year! Took a trip to Walmart that evening to get a hook for the basement door.

*I know that "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet", but sometimes, I would just like a flood light!

*However, coming from His hand, I would gladly take a lightening bug to light the way!

That's about all I got for now. Must get to cleaning while Sophie is sleeping. That girl likes to dump containers out!

XOXOXOXOXOX

Picture Perfect Monday - Christmas Pics Gone Wrong

We have been trying to get pictures for our Christmas cards taken (but, with two uncooperative girl, this has been a feat!), and now we need some input ...

(the bath is the only place I could get them to sit still long enough to take one of 'em together!)

(I'm just not sure how Christmas card friendly tub shots are ...)

(Now, adoring the Baby Jesus, that is more like it ...)

(but, still, not quite what I had in mind ...)

... so, what do y'all think? Tub shots - together and FACING THE CAMERA - or with Baby Jesus - even though ya can't see their faces?
HELP ME!!!!
Thanks!
